100 word challenge

 Ready aim fire ! I blocked my ears , it was complete chaos. Bullets and massive cannonballs were flying everywhere  , I sprinted over to a stone wall and hid behind it . the soldiers in my town were battling with the bloodthirsty rebels who wanted nothing but war and destruction , the rebels  wouldn't be happy until they took complete control over the town . A cannonball went flying past my head just missing it , this was the time to run ! I sprinted down the stone stepps and ran and ran until I was finally out of range of the battle , I was finally safe .

Persuasive writing

 Getting rid of Boredom , checking the time, gaming , talking to friends / parents , these are all reasons why I strongly believe that ois students should be able to go on their devices at break time.

My first reason is boredom, many children can get bored very easily so wouldn't it just be great to be able to reach into your pocket and pull out a phone ?  We would be able to do many things to keep us entertained eg: gaming . Gaming is very fun ( depending on what game you play ) and could keep us entertained for an easy 30 mins probably even more ! Then before we know it, break time will be over and we will have to go back to class to do learning but don't get me wrong , we won't be allowed to play on our devices during class time.

My second reason is talking to friends/family, what if my best friend was on the other side of the field and I couldn't be bothered walking over there, I could just text or ring her and we could have a full on conversation even though we are both so far away! If I started to feel a bit sick or hurt myself I could tell my parents personally and then I won't have to waste my time walking all of the way to the office to use the school phone .

My final reason is just doing fun but random stuff, i could check the time with it so i won't be late for anything . I could also use it as a calculator so I could cheat in a math test ( just kidding ) and I could also use it to take pictures and selfies , I could even use it as a torch, , I would just whip my phone  out of my pocket and ta daaa light.

In conclusion, I think being able to use our phones at break time is an excellent idea because it is fun, useful and keeps us entertained .

!100 word challenge!

Driving along I glanced a worried look out of my window into the white abyss , people had been disappearing without a trace . There was talk from the villagers nearby that a large furry white beast lived nearby and took villagers when they least expected it . 

Suddenly there was a loud clunk and then the engine died , It was frozen solid , uh oh.i took a step outside and attempted to use my hair dryer to melt the ice but then, roaaar. It was the beast a big fluffy white beast or was it really just a polar bear? Uh oh .

THE WATER CYCLE

Have you ever wondered where all of the refreshing drinking water comes from ,well you're about to find out .The water actually has been through something that we call a cycle. A cycle is something that is repeated over and over again and that is exactly what happens to the water that we drink ,but the water we drink goes through one specific cycle, the water cycle .

Firstly tiny parts of the water in the streams,lakes,rivers,ice and snow basically gets sucked up by the clouds , this is called evaporation. evaporation is when the warmth from the sun causes  small amounts of water to rise up into the air and then it turns into water vapour (gas).

Secondly as the water vapour rises higher into the atmosphere it cools and slowly starts to transform into liquid water again, this is called condensation . condensation is crucial for the water cycle because it is responsible for forming the clouds. The clouds are formed when the water droplets from the condensation float off and sort of combine with one another to form a cloud.

Thirdly , more and more condensation joins up until the cloud is about to rain this is called precipitation . As more and more condensation joins the cloud the cloud gets darker and darker until it is heavy with lots of water. , then it starts to rain.

This cycle is repeated over and over again probably until the sun explodes . In conclusion evaporation,condensation and precipitation which are all parts of the water cycle are keeping us alive and without it nothing would live, I hope that everyone who reads this will know a bit more stuff than they did before they read it .

my typical school day.

So for a normal day in my school we usually start at 5 to 9am in the morning unless we have something special on .
Then we usually do fitness first thing after we do the roll then we move on towards our math time. then we all have a 30 minute break and go outside and have morning tea .
 After morning tea we move on to silent reading or as we call it ( ssr ) straight after ssr we move onto our english which includes reading and writing
 Woohoo its 12:30 pm which is lunch time, for lunch everyone in the school gathers at the lunch area which is a massive area with loads of metal benches , but we  can't leave until the duty teachers let us go.
After lunch so at 1:25 pm we all head inside back towards our classrooms and start to ssr or ssd which stands for super silent drawing, and then after that most days we do P:E and then either art , Maori or topic.
Woohoo it's home time at 3:05.

Some of you may be wondering "what causes plastic pollution " , plastic pollution is caused by  plain old trash ,plastic is basically everywhere even places you don't expect it to be  for example inside some brands of chewing gum,the ocean , their is even plastic in fish , so technically we all have microplastics inside us right now.

For those who don't know it but deep in the middle of the north pacific ocean there is tons of plastic , it is known as the dirtiest ocean in the world . Most of the plastic that you leave after you had a picnic down on the beach or u had just been  swimming in a lake and u lost your sandals and all of your plastic bags just blew away and you thought they were  never going to be seen again , well they have been seen again ,by the ocean creatures and seagulls . I mean turtles and fish just think " ooh look at that yummy looking jelly fish  just floating about in the see of eternal plastic , I might just go and eat it"
well that is actually what they do but the sad thing is  it isn't even a jellyfish , it is actually a yummy plastic bag bobbing up and down in the waves, and then they swallow it only to choke and then die.

Also plastic is contributing to climate change and none of us want to be walking  around in a desert for the rest of our lives do we?With nothing to drink other than plasticy muddy  water .

But if every one all units together and starts to think that " i'm going to stop using plastic cause it is destroying our natural environment and wildlife"that wont happen and we wont be living in a desert.
To stop this from happening we need a big change not just stopping using plastic bags at your local supermarket , but to stop using plastic all together.

The challenge i chose to do was designing a cover for a book, so the book that i chose to do was harry potter and the order of the phoenix cause it is my favourite book and i have a serious harry potter addiction.

hi guys so i didn't really know what to write about so i just picked
WOOLLY MAMMOTHS

Diet: 

 woolly mammoths were herbivores , which means they eat only plants such as , grass, bushes, shrubs and they only drank water.


How did they become extinct: 

 scientists believe that the cause was humans hunting them for the meat and bones , and on top of that there was climate change.

Appearance:

 mammoths WERE about 9-11 feet tall and weighed up to 6 tons, they had two long curved tusks and one long trunk . They also had a lot of shaggy brown fur and short tails.

habitat: 


their habitat is known as the tundra steppe ,. this environment stretched across northern asia , many parts of europe and a part of north america during the ice age.
